#HappyHanukkah from the #LibertyMenorah in our collection! This cast brass menorah was made by Manfred Anson (1922-2012) for the centennial of the Statue of Liberty in 1986. Did you know that when you visit the Museum, you can also see a beautiful view of the #StatueOLiberty out the window behind the liberty menorah? 🗽🕎 The brass menorah combines Jewish and American themes, and its inscriptions note major events in Jewish history including the : Exodus from Egypt, the; Babylonian exile of 597-538 BCE; the Judah Maccabee 168 BCE revolt against Rome in 168 BCE, the Holocaust, and the centennial of the Statue of Liberty.
