I can recall in great detail taking every photograph this year. Every person, conversation, laugh, tear, insecuirties shared, the vulnerabilities they willingly offered, all of it. Conversely, even when relishing in everything I’ve done right I also think of the countless things I could have done better. Maybe another hour of the day would’ve yielded better light reproduction, maybe it was the editing, perhaps the time taken to edit. Regardless though, the missed opportunities aren’t cause for regret or blame, they are and continue to be the catalyst for curiosity. The same infinite curiosity that’s fueled every risk I’ve taken over the years to create the body of work I’ve amassed. I think this year was a triumph when I consider that I photographed more people in one calendar year than any year past. And being able to do so while maintaining my standards is something I’m proud of. So to each of you that opened up in some capacity and shared a bit of yourself, your essence, I appreciate you immeasurably. And to anyone reading this I hope you are and remain in great health.
