I was lucky enough to work with Olivia Newton-John at just one event, which you can see in this positively surreal performance of “What A Wonderful World” on an Earth Day TV special. Bette Midler, Meryl Streep, Olivia Newton-John, Goldie Hawn, Lily Tomlin (dressed in character) and Cher (who did not come down to the stage for rehearsal and so doesn’t get a solo!). Darlene Love, Patti Darcy, Charlo Crossley-Fortier, many others are in the choir. Anyway, we only rehearsed around the piano for around 15 minutes at the end of sound check and it’s all just a blip in my memory, but today it’s one that I am happy to relive.  Farewell to one of pop music’s most sublime and mellow voices. 😢
