2 years ago I came to Barcelona for what I thought would be Yoga bootcamp (it was a 200hour teacher training). I didn’t intend to teach, I just wanted to develop a better relationship with my body + mind.
It turns out that to pass the exam you had to be able to teach, and being the (recovering) perfectionist that I am, I accepted the challenge and convinced a couple of my sister’s friends to try yoga with me for free. By the end of my training, a handful of my sisters friends were coming over a couple of times per week. Yoga -as it had done with me- was helping them navigate anxiety and stress, as well as making them stronger and more flexible.
I can FEEL the difference in my body and my energy before and after I move alone or I teach. Every practice is different. It has taught me to honour and trust my body, to challenge my mind. To respect where I’m at and to show up as I am no matter what.
I love what yoga means. Union. Uniting the mind, body and spirit. I love that I get to work with so many incredible people, some of whom I’ve been guiding for almost two years!
This year has been so full of opportunities: from launching my online flows @soul___bodhi to teaming up with friends @beautemediterraneaofficial @pokehouse_official @ateliermanola to create free events to partnering with @sbyagustina to create workshops. I also hosted my first retreat!
On the first day of class I remember my teachers Heather and Lezanne telling me how the philosophy would change my life. Back then, I didn't believe them, now I know they were right. Life has been pretty great once I stopped thinking of how I could serve myself and focused on how I could serve others.
I am so grateful for this practice, for everything it does for me: from the teachers and guides in my 200 and 300 hours, for all of the lessons, and for everyone who’s trusted me with their journey. It is an honour and a pleasure 🙏🏻✨
