haven’t been on holiday abroad for nearly 3 years/ been abroad with Tylor. There is a flux between being confident holding your partners hand, and then assessing the safety of being queer in small town environments. Is this what travelling as a queer person is like, a constant assessment of whether your love/queerness is accepted in a certain location. This is far a from a new revelation - however when trying to recreate some of the simple things of heteronormative culture, we can be met with barriers, our own perceptions and/or physical responses. Onwards and upwards regardless, sprinkling a little bit of faggotry with kindness in all the little spaces we can.
