The Famous “King Neptune” from the abandoned Atlantis theme part of the 1980’s , Two rocks. This site has been recently listed as heritage site in @westernaustralia and a great place to explore with kids. This giant limestone sculpture made in the likeness of Neptune, Roman god of the sea, once lorded over one of Perth's long-gone tourist attractions. The Atlantis Marine Park at Two Rocks was a popular getaway for day-trippers from Perth, who flocked to see the acrobatic bottlenose dolphins doing tricks. The site also boasted a trampoline park, an aquarium and celebrity sculptures featuring the likes of Charles and Diana and Marilyn Monroe. But the glitz and grandeur of a theme park designed to rival Disneyland was short-lived, and after opening in 1981 the attraction closed its doors nine years later. If you're visiting this relic of Perth history, take a short drive to Two Rocks Beach or the Yanchep Lagoon for a quiet spot to have a swim in the shallow waters and explore the unique rock formations along the shore.
