This beauty came in for a consultation on Saturday and, due to a cancellation, I offered her a temporary fix until I can get her back in for a longer appointment. She was very upset with how her hair was left after her last appointment, and was told the reason was because her hair was too thick. What I did this appointment: First it was very important for me to tackle her face frame because the lift was uneven and when she pulled her hair back she had a harsh line. After foiling her face frame and adding a few foils around the sides (so she had a cohesive look around her face) I tipped out some of her previously lightened ends to give her brighter pops of blonde throughout her hair. The goal was to make her to feel brighter overall. Next I used @keratherapy repair shampoo & conditioner which repairs over-treated, dry hair that’s been damaged. It also shields hair from environmental stress & humidity making the hair more hydrated, stronger, and shinier. Using this line will also help preserve her hair color. Her hair looked and felt amazing! Next I root melted to eliminate as much warmth as possible and blur any old highlight lines. Finished with a neutral gloss to keep her blonde bright. My take on what happened at her last appointment is that her hair just wasn’t lifted enough and needed more time to process. I also noticed she a darker color (permanent) that was used in between her highlights. Blonding takes time and patience. If you ever feel you can’t work on a certain hair type, just be honest with the client. What do you think of this temporary fix? Have questions?
