it’s been like a week but our album came out and i wanted to share some thoughts 🥳 this album is about the fires we grew up with in Co Springs, but the meaning for me has changed over time. even since we first started making this record, it seemed like more and more ecological disasters were happening across the US. forest fires in Colorado, hurricanes and floods on the east coast, hottest temperatures ever recorded, drought and fires in California. ill even go further and say that it’s turned into a metaphor for how i feel about the US gov rn. major rollbacks on environmental protection policies, firing workers that maintain important federal programs/national parks, attacks on people’s rights and freedoms to just exist. hopefully out of the storm can come some form of restoration for all the marginalized and criminalized communities and that maybe we’ll finally do what we need to do to protect the environment. anyways I hope people like this record or find some meaning in it of their own. please go listen, proceeds from initial sales and streams will be going to wildfire councils.
