I know itβs really easy to just go along with how society and the people around you define you. But one of the most liberating experiences Iβve had so far has been to define myself. That means that I, Fantasi Nicole, have the power and the authority to define myself for myself! It means that I also get to define what being a Black woman is for me. I wrote a little something to provide that self-definition. βπΎ

I am the breathe that carries hope and love. π§πΎββοΈ The warmth that spreads through the body whereof. π₯ The feeling that encapsulates joy and pain. π€πΎ The strength that comes from heartbreak and gain. πͺπΎ
I am the heart that continues to tick. β₯οΈ The sensation that melts you with every inch. π₯΄ I am that which can never be broken. β The result of a people that are chosen. π₯° I am....

Aside from this, I define myself as a Black woman, worthy of love, admiration, respect, and liberation. These identities are inseparable for me because I am as much of a woman as I am Black. Therefore, I write and work for the equity of both. Identifying as a Black Feminist, that is what that means. It means that my intersecting identities deserve equity and justice just like my fellow Blacks and my fellow women, not instead of. I advocate for the equity of both parties, knowing that my unique experiences as a Black woman deserve acknowledgement and equity as well. π€
