Yesterday, I brought you home in a form I didn’t foresee for another 30 years. You were more than my mother you were my father, brother, sister, and had to be because I didn’t grow up with either. In the 90’s, we lived in pissy project elevators with heroin addicts for neighbors- the good old days, but we moved to suburbia for a better life that you sacrificed for. We left- You, Mamita and I. We took care of each other and I told you that I would never leave you and I held your hand until you left. A strong Puerto Rican women showed me how to be the strong black man I am. You never judged me when others did, applauded me when others didn’t and saw me when no one did. As my twin flame, our love and bond transcends the physical realm and perhaps heaven needed you more than I. You were my angel on Earth and now you’re my angel in heaven. I’m left with a legacy to uphold that ppl like us aren’t wanted to have and for that I am eternally grateful. To know you was to love you. Xx Thank you to my boulders that held me up! Friends and family that travelled at light speeds across bridges and tunnels to ensure I was SAFE and NEVER left alone and made sure I was fed. Those who called and checked in constantly. Your loyalty and support will never be forgotten in my darkest hours. 🖤
