As soon as the kingdom reopens its doors to tourism officially on September 23, the valleys will erupt with festivities and colours as Bhutan begins its fall festival season. Starting with the Thimphu "Drubchen" on October 1 to the Wangdue "Tsechu" or festival from October 3-5 and the Thimphu Tsechu on October 5-7, a host of colourful celebrations will sweep across the valleys of the nation until December - filling the realms with the magic of masked dances, folk songs, ceremonies and the unfolding of sacred scrolls from the smallest villages to the largest temples and fortresses.
