The exhibition continues at the Arsenale with works where the human figure becomes increasingly abstracted, artificial, and synthetic. 1-4 Kerstin Bratsch’s installation reflects on the history of expanded painting by featuring human figures realized with different techniques such as mosaics, stained glass, paper marbling, and stucco marmo. 5-6 Jes Fan’s sculptures originate from casts of the artist' body parts and feature hand-blown glass orbs injected with natural materials 7-8 Mire Lee’s kinetic installation frantically oozes red liquid, resembling both a mysterious machine and the internal functions of a body. 9-10 Sandra Mujinga’s ghostly figures stand in an uncanny room filled with green light.
