Let's talk seriously about COVID. People who have been exposed (before the event, during travels, or anytime since) may start to show symptoms and/or test positive now.
If you have been exposed to someone who tests positive, or you are feeling symptomatic, first of all, MASK UP and limit your contact with other people.
Then please TEST.
If you don't have tests or extra masks with you or finances are a problem, we can help you. Mask up, then visit our COVID testing booth in the lobby outside the competition tracks. They are happy to help.
If you test positive, what happens next is not a punishment. It's ONLY to keep everyone safe, so PLEASE help us with this goal.
1. Stay in your room.
2. Notify roommates and people you've had unmasked close contact with. Ask them to test.
3. Turn in your badge, we will comp you the same badge next year.
4. Ask our nurses for more specific health info by emailing [email protected]
Have you been exposed to someone who is positive, but you're testing negative? Great - so far. The prob is it can take a few days to show up on a test, and you may be contagious during that time. So you MUST MASK if you someone you hang with is positive. All the time, everywhere outside your private room, in all our spaces, or do not enter. This is not a request, this is a requirement. Been exposed, MUST MASK and test daily. Again, we are happy to assist if you didn't bring tests. Just ask at the COVID testing booth in SkateSafe.
Thank you to everyone for being on board. Sorry for the bummer post. But we really want to have fun and send you home healthy, and these precautions really increase our odds of success.
