This film represents so much. Bit of reference as to why... Years ago I found myself in an apprehensive and cluttered period. Unclear of my direction, challenged by unfamiliar doses of adversity, and encountering for the first time my own experience of anxiety and lack of confidence in myself. In the peak of that period I took myself to the park with my line and experienced an old but familiar feeling of growth, positive self feedback and enjoyment from a practice again, after not having felt that in years.. I tuned out of that negative state for a moment and into a present and playful mood. It became my ‘thing’... my way to remind myself that I’m capable and that I deserve growth and enjoyment. My journey through slacklining and highlining is directly related to my journey and development as a person. Its become a tool to further discover who I am. I couldn’t begin to express what this sport has given me... Community, confidence, mindfulness, purpose, resilience, joy, connection, the list goes on... I want to preach that there’s practices out there for everyone of equal value, and we should never stop pursuing if we haven’t found them yet. Let yourself go and enjoy the things that make you feel most alive. Whatever that means to you. . My brother @max_hinton and I dreamt of putting our two passions together to create a film like this.
