Bill Russell has died. Iconic doesn't seem fitting enough for the man who's championship total will never be touched by anyone else in the NBA, nor who's activism at the peak of his career made him both a transformational hero and a target. Russell was a once in a century figure, who's combination of accomplishments, bravery, grace and humour haven't been seen since, and most likely will never be seen again in professional sport.
