The biggest CONGRATS to my friend Lili-Anne Brown for her triumphant opening of The Color Purple at @themuny last night. She’s one of the first Black women to direct this show and, folks? You feel that. This production is an incredible example of the magic that can happen when you pass the baton. I’ve never walked away from this show feeling this good, this moved, or this hopeful. . Great work to this outlandishly talented cast, including my friend @seanwaltoncreative. I’m so happy she brought you back to that stage.
