my 5th #plasticfreejuly comes to an end but the mentality continues. we must close the waste loop - we throw it into our bins and it’s out of site out of mind but it’s just sitting here on beautiful land in a pile causing the earth to melt, it’s being sent to countries that are desperate to manage our waste for $$, how much accidentally ends up in the ocean on the way, FILLING wildlife to death. this month i carry with me new found knowledge through podcasts and films (i have a list if anyones interested), I spent time cutting my soft plastics into pieces and registering them as #ecobrick . i found uses for my recycling like containers for our van bits & bops & seedling vessels. It really woke me up again, seeing how much plastic is involved in just existing. I wonder, if we COULD live without it once before ~ surely we can return to an almost plastic free world again.. the stakes are high. you can take your soft plastics back to woolies, you can get a small compost system for any space, you can take your own cup, bags & bottles, go to farmers markets. we can take responsibility for ourselves even though it’s hard. it’s caring for this country and this gift of a world. REMEMBER, YOU’RE LOOKING FOR COMPOSTABLE - not biodegradable not recyclable🌸 🪱🌲 🌍
