I’m on a billboard in Times Square starring in a global @target commercial!!! I’m so proud to be a part of Target’s Black Beyond Measure campaign. It’s such an honor to be spotlighted for my work in the beauty industry centered around amplifying diversity and representation. It was an unforgettable experience celebrating Black Excellence surrounded by such incredible individuals. I’m still processing the magnitude of this moment. After graduating in 2015, I came to New York with no job, just an abundance of ambition to make it in the magazine industry. My journey has been far from easy. It has taken a lot of grit, a lot of hunger, and a lot of relentless drive—but I never lost sight of my goals. Never in my wildest dreams would I think wholeheartedly pursuing my purpose would put me on a billboard. But God said, “Bigger.” I was recruited for this opportunity two months after being let go from my former editorial job when the magazine closed. The lesson: NEVER GIVE UP because there are no ceilings and no limits when you hold on to the vision.
