My husband @richiejacksongaydad leaves the job of designing our home to me, because he knows it is one of my great joys of creative expression and an expression of love for our family. So when @archdigest suggested he write the essay to accompany the images of our home, he resisted, saying he didn’t know anything about it. I explained it’s not about paint colors, it’s about emotional colors. Not about the details of paneling, but the details of feeling. And that he knows everything about. The next day, he sent me this opening paragraph and asked if this is what I meant. Through my tears, I said yes. Our home is my love letter to our family. This is his love letter in return... “As my husband Jordan has become more himself, he has transformed our lives. Our initial home’s aesthetic could best be described as muscular: wood, steel, straight lines, chic but careful. Closets filled only with dark Prada suits and crisp white shirts. But then Jordan grew his hair, painted his nails, jettisoned the suits for dresses. Couture conquered careful.
