[Part One of Two] Hi. Here’s whats been going on in my world the past few weeks. Send some love & positive vibes my Dad’s way plz n thank u. On May 28th, my mom and dad went out on an early morning walk. My mom noticed some things seemed off about my dad which made her worry that he might be having a stroke. She took him to the ER and they found a golf ball sized brain tumor, cysts, and a brain bleed on the right side of his head. They checked him in and scheduled him for an emergency surgery Sunday morning. Mom called all of us kids to let us know what’s going on and I booked a flight home instantly. All of us were at the hospital within a few hours🙏 My mom is an absolute beast to have discovered this when she did. She has that eagle eye for health shit & should win nurse of the year every year... sorry other nurses👩‍⚕️🏆. When i got to the hospital, my dad was just normal ass Pat. Crackin jokes, playing games, etc. Little things were off due to the tumor but he was in good spirits and happy we were all with him. He went to ICU for surgery Sunday morning which lasted about 3-4 hours. They were able to remove the tumor and everything else that they could which is awesome. The neurosurgeon was very happy with the surgery but said that the tumor has cancer in it so we will have to do radiation and chemo asap. When he got out of surgery, we were nervous to see if there was any brain damage as it can be common after a surgery like that... He was very fatigued but was doing really well. He made a few jokes that assured us that he is OK lol. After recovering for a few days, they moved him from the ICU to the rehab center where he has been an absolute savage working on his recovery. He’s driven to get better and to fight this cancer (for a SECOND time... He had melanoma cancer 3 years ago which he’s been battling and now this shit. 🤦‍♂️ cancer won’t leave our family tf alone). They buzzed his hair before surgery and low key... Hagartys look good with a shaved head. Lauren said he looked like Bruce Willis😏It gives me hope for my future lol. He has a massive scar on the side of his head which looks really tight too. (Read the rest of the story on my next post)
