In trying to get men to care about this issue for years, I have failed to adequately break it down and sum it up as succinctly as these slides from @seedingsovereignty Reproductive rights are an ECONOMIC issue. A CLASS issue. They are about maintaining wealth and power for the minority that have always held it. Our bodies are just the battleground to wage the war. Our sexuality, our ability and choice to create, or not create, more humans are essential cogs in this machine. You shouldn’t just care about this issue if you have the ability to become pregnant... anyone who has struggled to work their way up in life, who knows what it’s like to grow up working class, should care about and fight for this. Because believe, this is the wealthy minority, with trustfunds and legacy names and inherited, invested resources trying to maintain those things at the expense of YOUR freedom and ability to improve your station. This is the 30,000 ft view. It’s not men vs women. It’s not just misogynists vs autonomous women or birthing people. It’s rich vs poor. It’s the elite vs working class. It’s about power and money, and who gets to keep it. (And before any dumbshit taps in with “well, just don’t have sex then/keep your legs closed”... yeah, we get it- you don’t like us having sex, or using our sexuality to benefit ourselves either. Same thing. And I will simply block you faster than you can take a breath, because I don’t waste a nanosecond on fucking with your type).
