‘onwards!’ — the incredible new project from @ccontourr, out on oct. 7 via @touching_bass — pre-order the ting via the link in bio. an evocative, twelve-track journey through black art both past and contemporary with soul, electronics and archival material at its core. “hearing voices", the first single “explores the relationship between our conditions of living and working and how we process or fail to process them”. contour directed the accompanying music video. - available on 12” vinyl and digital platforms - lyric book containing all lyrics from the record alongside exclusive additional images shot by @gabemorivera; designed by @bot_man_ (available both separately and as part of a bundle with the 12” vinyl) today, we set out on a new journey with an artist that has consistently inspired and amazed us on so many occasions throughout the past few years. with ‘onwards!’, khari has built a world so vivid, that we’ve found ourselves returning to it time and time again for nourishment. not only is his writing remarkably expressive and lived in, but this feels like his most accomplished synthesis of sample-based production. select co-production from collaborators @swarvy and @104rog only add to the clarity. meeting photographer, gabriel rivera, felt predestined. he regularly listens to @alexritaa's @calmroots show on @nts_radio, but it wasn’t until they followed each other via social media that alex was able to take in gabe’s own art and superior observational eye. after a few days in nyc together, khari and gabe created stardust; lots of it. the front cover you see is just one handful of it, but it shines; immeasurably. thank you to everyone that has contributed to the making of this project. alot of time and attention has gone into it from multiple sides and the result is, in our opinion, golden. we can’t wait for you to dive in.
