Hi friends! The Los Angeles primary election is TOMORROW and this is your reminder to vote if you haven’t yet!! Did you know that you can even do a same day voter registration at your polling place until 8pm tomorrow? (SOS.ca.gov/elections/polling-place). Sooooo there’s literally no excuse. I know that local elections can seem unsexy and boring but this election is VITAL to determine who will become our mayor. 😡 R*ck Car*s* has spent over 23 millions dollars trying to buy this election— so that he can develop LA into the gentrified totalitarian city of his dreams. He’s pro-cop, wants to sweep homeless people into prison-like cells, and not the mention helped to cover up USC sex scandals for 30 years (causing thousands of students to have a SA experience at their gynecologist). !!️We need to make sure that he doesn’t win 50% of the vote. Which in this low-turnout election means that every vote counts. We need enough votes to be diverted from him so that we have a runoff election in November. My pick is Gina Viola @ginaforla, because she’s the only candidate who is in community and stands with poor and unhoused people and is deeply committed to decarcerating LA. Whoever you choose, vote and make sure that Caruso doesn’t win. 💋 Other important notes: S/O @eunisses2022 who is AMAZING. In CD 13 we NEED @hugoforcd13 to beat Mitch O’Farrell (his developer/landlord funded-ass carried out the giant sweeps in Echo Park). 🌟 Lastly, I’m super excited about the Defenders of Justice slate— @tdoj2022 who are the first slate of public defenders to potential be Superior Court judges— bringing humanity into a typically white supremacist landmark.
