I got to welcome Attorney General Rob Bonta to my district for the second time in three days – this time in Torrance. I invited him to not only see our new tiny home village at the Torrance Civic Center, but sit down for a round table about the Homeless Court program we are working to launch here in November. The Homeless Court model – which connects low-level unhoused offenders with legal and other supportive services instead of punishment – is one we've already seen working in Redondo Beach and Long Beach. I'm hoping to bring the Homeless Court to Torrance in the next few months, where it'll work together with the tiny home village next door to help people turn their lives around. I know what the problem is. What we need are innovative solutions and these programs are among them.
