RECAP!!️ When @iamstevejones first told me about wanting to honor me I immediately curved it, b/c I didn’t think I had done anything that was deserving of being honored just yet. I’ve been acting in LA for 15 years, but I’m just beginning to break the surface. When he said it was a “Rising Star” award I thought it sounded humble enough & ultimately I didn’t want to block what God was doing for me through him. 😅 But after, I realized that God had used Steve & this award to honor the seeds I planted into this career when no one was looking. 🙌🏿 Every time I took the bus to act on someone’s set for free b/c I just wanted to work so badly was a seed planted. Long hours on set as a PA b/c I just wanted to learn was a seed down. Background work. A seed. Wardrobe assisting, volunteering as a reader for casting directors were all seeds sown. Attending a @hollywoodconfidential workshop where @ladygracebyers was a surprise guest speaker was a seed so anointed I’m still seeing the benefits from it nearly 8 years later. Stuffing VIP bags at another HC event, where my future costar and director, @meagangood headlined was a supernatural jack & the beanstalk seed down. I’m so grateful to serve a God who blesses the works of your hands. Acknowledged by others or not, God sees it. And thank you so much STEVE JONES ♥️for not listening to me & letting God flow through you. The love & support you showed me in this beautiful moment is uncontainable & forever saved & highlighted in the timeline of my life. I will cherish my SUPERNOVA award forever... Ain’t God funny?? He said ‘Rising Star got you in the door, but you’re leaving a SUPERNOVA!’ 🤣🙌🏿💥💥💥 I’m praying that anyone who may be feeling overlooked or undervalued can grab onto some of my faith that grew from Thursday night. The blessing may not have come last week, month, or 5-10 years ago (some of us have been planting for a while) but the seeds you planted were in good, rich fertile ground.
