"On average, how much work should we expect for (ENTER CHILD's NAME HERE)?" This is a question I get from almost every new parent while onboarding. Here is how I answer- let me know how I have done. :-) I cannot honestly answer that question for you & anyone who says they can, is lying. You see, about a gazillion factors go into how often a child works; what size are they wearing? What market are they living in? How fast do they grow? What season is it? How good are your snapshots? How well do they do at auditions/on self-tapes? Will you keep on top of size updates? What are clients looking for at any given moment? Do they fit the vision of a particular brand? And so on and so on and so on. Your agency does not hire the models- an agency works much like an employment agency, where we have talent, & then we seek work for them. So we can seek them work until we're blue in the face but we cannot GUARANTEE them even one job. However, I am pretty good at my job, & we do not sign kids we don't forsee working. Because we don't make money unless your kiddo makes money and we like making money. So we only sign kiddos that we truly believe will work. x
