Congratulations to artists Vanessa German and Cauleen Smith, recipients of the 27th Heinz Awards! Announced this morning, the Heinz Awards recognize a remarkable group of individuals who are advancing knowledge, creativity and improving the lives of others. @vanessalgerman lives and works in Pittsburgh. Her sculpture Toaster is currently on view at the museum and a part of the museum's collection. She works across media including assemblage sculpture, installations, spoken word poetry, and community-based work. @Cauleen_Smith's hybrid exhibition Pandemic Diaries was recently on view at the museum and part of our Online Exhibition Series.
