Apollo 11 entered into lunar orbit on July 19, 1969. A civilian research pilot, Neil Armstrong, commanded the mission. Think of it: he and Buzz Aldrin were the first humans to walk on the moon and returned to tell the tale. Collins would remain in the command module. They agreed and shook hands. Finally, together, on July 20, 1969, they landed in the Sea of Tranquility. The heights to which we can rise when we choose to rise together. Image via @nasa
