Tag a mama who needs to see this ❤️ We need to tell more Mums that it’a normal & OK to grieve/mourn the body they had. It’s ok to want the body you had previously, it’s a shock to the system when it changes. It’s ok to miss certain things you used to have. It’s ok to say, “I don’t want an overhang.” It’s normal to wish for a flat stomach & no stretch marks. To fit into clothes you used to wear. It’s all part of the process.
Grief is about processing what’s happened & letting it go so that you can move on in a healthy way. Going through the grieving process is how we let go of what once was & focus on the now & where or what we have today. Not an easy process at all, but necessary to find body acceptance.
The more we hold on to what we used to have or love, we set ourselves up for heartache, a jail sentence inside our own negative thoughts & the comparison trap. We don’t want to stay here, it’s detrimental to our mental health.
We evolve, grow, change & adapt in the phases of our lives, this is just another one. If you’ve been struggling to accept your body after babies, this is your sign to start being kinder to yourself, moving forwards not looking back at who you used to be. Be kind, compassionate & loving to yourself while you go through these changes ❤️
