Each June we harvest honey from the 149 beehives we have dotted around the conservancy, it is then processed and sold in our onsite shop with the profits then reinvested back into conservation initiatives. Sadly, there was no honey to harvest this June as the droughts have stopped many of the vachellia tree species from flowering and without flower nectar the bees have been unable to make as much honey. It is shocking to see how climate change is having such a devastating impact throughout the conservancy that everything from the biggest elephant to the smallest honeybee is struggling.
