@jacquimcassey ‘s groundbreaking @girlfanszine has always been an inspiration and the designer, photographer and founder's latest project is 'Extra Time' – an exhibition of reimagined football ephemera that ‘uncovers the joy to be found in charity shop scores and celebrates the collaborative efforts of a creative community.’ There are ceramics, textiles, and ornaments such as the one-of-one coat constructed from pre-loved scarves sourced from @classicfootballshirts that McAssey made with designer Paul Robinson. Or an exclusive ceramic pentaptych by designer and art director @christopher_shannon and the twee faces of ceramic figures have been over-painted with the England cross 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 You've seen some of it before. Jacqui told SEASON zine: ‘I’ve been working on this for a couple of years but it was accelerated when India Harris got the directing job on the Lionesses squad announcement film. She asked me for some pieces so I had to move a lot quicker. The music box which opens the film is mine as well as the coat and some ceramics which are dotted around the room in the pub scene.’ The exhibition runs until 24th June at @villagebooks.co in Manchester (a SEASON zine stockist). @marcprovinsprojects shot the photo book documenting the collection which is available to buy there.
