"It might be too late for me, but I hope and believe that one day Glioblastoma will go from terminal to treatable." Today is glioblastoma awareness day, a day to highlight this aggressive type of brain cancer. Laura Nuttall was diagnosed with glioblastoma at 18 years old and given only 12 months to live. However, two and a half years after her diagnosis, Laura is responding well to innovative immunotherapy treatment and recently celebrated her graduation from @officialuom. We welcomed Laura and her family to Professor Chris Jones' lab to learn more about his research into finding the genes that drive the development of gliomas, such as glioblastoma. Laura says, "It was fascinating to visit the ICR, and we were really inspired by Professor Chris Jones and the incredible research he and his team are carrying out, but it also reinforced how important it is that research into glioblastoma is properly funded. "Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 than any other cancer but receive roughly 2% of cancer research. I hope that people continue to support the ICR to improve treatments for this horrific disease and other brain tumours." #GBMDay #GlioblastomaAwarenessDay #GlioblastomaAwareness #Glioma #Glioblastoma #GBM #GlioblastomaResearch #BrainTumour #BrainTumor #BrainTumourResearch #BrainTumorResearch #BrainCancer
