This woman! She taught me almost everything I know, saved each penny and sacrificed all her energy to give me a better tomorrow. ⠀ ⠀ She worked 364 days a year for 50 years straight ever since she stepped foot in 舊金山, a.k.a. San Francisco. She never let ANY obstacles get in her way because she just never saw barriers. Arriving with so little, she had no back up plan so her determination to build a new life in a foreign land drove her every single day. Everyday, watching her make something from nothing was biggest life lesson I ever learned from her: never give up, there is ALWAYS a way. ⠀ ⠀ When she bought her first restaurant, she hand-painted the sign, hand-wrote each menu, and bought all the produce at 5am. When I came to work with her, I was making dumplings and bringing customers to their tables at 3 years old. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life. ⠀ ⠀ Every day, each conversation had a lesson followed by unsolicited advice, the type that you call “nagging”, but in hindsight, it was simply “#MOMTRUTHS”. ⠀ ⠀ The thing is - a mother's wisdom is like cup that's ever flowing. It guides us through life and her words are always in the back of our minds as a constant source of support and comfort. No matter where you are or what you're doing, you know that your mom is always a phone call away, ready to tell you the TRUTH. ⠀ ⠀ This Mother's Day, I’m sharing the best piece of advice my mom has ever give me.
