Tomaso Clavarino's photographic journey in search of (un)known territories Padanistan is a photographic book by Tomaso Clavarino, co-published in 2022 by @guesteditions (UK) and @studiofaganel (Italy). The project is an attempt by the photographer to reconnect with his home territory, Northern Italy also known as Padania, in a continuous dialogue between familiarity and repulsion. By retracing and exploring places along the Strada Statale Padana Superiore (SS11) from Turin to Venice, Tomaso reflects on the concept of belonging, pursuing a dual investigation of his personal identity and the territorial, geographical one from a cultural, political and visual point of view. @tomasoclavarino Tomaso Clavarino (b. 1986) is a photographer, visual artist and director who lives and works in Italy. Free from any predefined photography scheme and model, Tomaso develops a research methodology that talks about spaces, places and situations through an intimate and personal vision. He collaborates with museums and institutions, is co-curator of JEST, an independent space for photography in Turin, professor at IED (European Institute of Design), and is represented in Italy by the Studio Faganel gallery in Gorizia.
