📍EL NENE @elnenepuerto offers contemporary Oaxacan-Mexican cuisine in the Rinconada neighborhood of Puerto Escondido. A cozy dinner environment with terrific service, El Nene served us some delicious regional foods with a variety of mezcal. Pictured is the homemade mole with chicken breast, cauliflower and peas; and the Pibil burger with a beef patty, achiote pulled pork, red onion soaked in vinegar, cheese, and avocado. The mezcal flight came with seasoned crickets and worm salt (sal de gusano), which are both commonly served with mezcal in the Oaxaca region of Mexico. Really enjoyed the tepache brewed locally by @realbrewing; as well as the mezcal sour made with pasilla pepper liqueur and egg whites.
