This @goalclick x @weuro2022 series is so good, taking us all behind the scenes of the tournament through the eyes and pictures of 12 international women's footballers from competing nations. They documented their football lives in recent weeks – final club games, training camps, friendlies, and the first group stage matches. Here are some highlights and the full list of players involved: Nicole Billa (Austria), Luna Gevitz (Denmark), Kerstin Casparij (Netherlands), Rachel Furness (Northern Ireland), Fátima Pinto (Portugal), and Gunnhildur Yrsa Jonsdottir (Iceland) have already launched. With Lotte Wubben-Moy (England and our fave), Rachel Rinast (Switzerland), Valentina Giacinti (Italy), Natalia Kuikka (Finland), Kassandra Missipo (Belgium), and Celin Bizet (Norway) to come. By giving players the power, freedom, and control to capture their own story, we get a real and intimate behind-the-scenes view into their preparation with both club and country. ‘The photos take us into places we do not often see - from match day moments to team bonding and relaxation. The powerful stories of the players show how far women's football has developed in Europe since 2019, but they also show us how much more potential there is in the women's game.
