Waterlily Weigh-Off 2025 is officially here! This training season was... tough. Last year, our Victoria ‘Longwood Hybrid’ carried 43 lbs like a champ. This year? She tapped out at 23 lbs. Let’s just say our dream of breaking records sank faster than Kevin’s 70 lbs of “practice weights.” Our trainer this season, Jane Flora, promised us greatness... but after this performance, she’s officially been “let go.” (Don’t worry, she’s thriving in her new career as a headband model.) But hey—it’s beauty over brawn this year and here at Brookgreen Gardens, whether it’s art, conservation, or water lily competitions, we always give it our best shot. We’ll regroup, regrow, and come back stronger.... give or take 20 lbs. Our submission: 26.5” 23 lbs. It’s an honor to compete with such amazing Gardens. Good luck to all participants (tagged below).
