Sunscreen and a well formulated Vitamin C can be a great combination in skincare. Vitamin C has antioxidant properties. It may help protect the skin from UV damage caused by sun exposure by reducing free radical formation. Under certain conditions it has been shown to have a photoprotective effect (Darr et al 1992, Lin et al 2002, Murray et al 2008). Vitamin C does NOT replace sunscreen by any means. However, it could work well together with your sunscreen to protect your skin. Vitamin C can also help with the appearance of hyperpigmentation by inhibiting the enzyme tyrosinase. Vitamin C may also help with the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Sunscreen is known to help with hyperpigmentation and it protects from premature skin ageing. Using sunscreen together with Vitamin C can be a helpful combination in your AM skincare routine. However, it is important to consider that this should be a well formulated Vitamin C- not all Vitamin C skincare products are created equally. #skin #skincare #skincareroutine #skincareproducts #dermatologist #dermdoctor #skincarecheck #skincare101 #skincaretiktok #skincaretiktoks #skintok
