FEAR.........⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ Don’t let it paralyze you. I wish a had a penny for every woman that’s disclosed that fear is what’s been stopping her from starting her solo travel journey. ⠀ ⠀ I get it. You’ve seen the movie “Taken” and your friends/family have scared you half to death not to travel solo.⠀ ⠀ The problem is that you’re low key miserable waiting around on your friends, and You’re ready to see the world NOW!!! All you’re missing is a roadmap, and the confidence to take your first solo trip. But because you don’t know what you’re doing or where to start, fear sets in and you wonder if you can really DO THIS. ⠀ ⠀ I’ve been to 57 countries as a female solo traveler, and my number 1 safety tool is the STEP program. The STEP program is a free service that allows U.S. Citizens to enroll with the local U.S. Embassy in every country. ⠀ ⠀ I’d recommend sending them a copy of your full itinerary prior to your arrival. Where you’ll eat, what excursions you’ll be doing, who your driver, photographer will be, what hotel you’ll be staying at, etc. This makes me feel super safe on vacation, as the U.S. embassy gets all the details about my breakfast at 9, my excursion at 10:30, the driver who took me to the excursion, where I was staying, my photographers Instagram, and the date/time I planned to meet with him, Etc. ⠀ ⠀ I literally provide so much information ahead of time about my intended who/what/when/where/how that its very hard for me to simply “go missing”.⠀ ⠀ I’d also recommend googling the location to the U.S. embassy in that country, and choosing an Air B n B or hotel on the same block or a block away from the embassy to feel more safe. ⠀ Today I’m hosting a FREE masterclass for women who want to ace their first solo trip and overcome their fear of solo travel!!
