Let’s get into it...
Killa Raymi (Kulla Raymi, Tarpuy Raymi), represents the spring equinox in the Andes. It’s the time that the earth is just right for harvesting. I have yet to be back home for any ceremony/celebration but this one came at a point in my personal life where I feel completely lost. I took the day to be with a community member and sit by the water with flowers, fruits, palo santo and sage. No corn unfortunately lol I was a on a budget (😩🤣). However, I also took this time to let go of energies from the last I have been holding on to. New moon, new seasons, new changes, new cycles. Killa Raymi represents more so the connection to our harvest, and is supposed to be in connection to fertility and femininity. Sitting by the water and really sitting under the sun, I felt connected in every way possible.
I was able to sit with my thoughts and set new intentions for this season. Though yes, indigeneity is focused on the community as a whole, in order to be a better community member, I also have to focus on my personal as well. We all need healing and it looks different for us all.
I don’t share a lot of this part of my life on IG or in real life, because growing up away from it all, it’s still kind of like...I do it my way and I don’t want to offend anyone, and more so, it kinda hurts emotionally. What adoption takes from you is much more than you know...
But here’s some words of encouragement in the video, some footage, and just letting y’all know as always...I wish I could be home. ❤️💐☀️⛰
