Dreaming of Another Place. Today is my 40th year on this wonderful planet, and this sunset with the sculptures that sit on Crosby beach called ‘Another Place’ I captured 2 days ago feels fitting for how I feel today. The last 2 years during Covid I have spent a lot of wonderful time alone capturing the UK. It’s an amazing place if you stop to enjoy it. All that time alone made me look at the human race from outside, almost as though I am not part of it just like every other species on the planet. If you step in to those shoes there is no going back, we are scary, it’s a tragedy what we have become and what we have done to earth. If any disease had done to us what we have it to the planet, we would stop at nothing to eradicate it. Just like we have with Covid which has got nothing on us. We have the power to fix it, but Covid has shown how selfish we are as a collective race and getting there will not be an easy feat if wearing a mask is supposedly taking away our freedom. We will have to lose so many more of our freedoms if we truly want a future for wildlife and ourselves. The earth is an amazing place without us in it, I have seen and felt that, and that is the tragedy. So right now I am dreaming of another place. A place where it isn’t human rights and needs first.
