In @time ♥️ @smkalita Look, when i started acting- the landscape was totally different. If by any chance, there was a role written for a South Asian woman or a role they would consider casting a "diverse" actor for, if one of us didn't nail it on the first go, then it would be given to a white actress. So we learnt how to work together -so at least one of us gets it. “If there is even one South Asian character, it’s such a win. It opens up an ecosystem so that South Asian characters will have siblings and parents and boyfriends and girlfriends. It just opens up the door for more South Asian characters, and that has a ripple effect for all of us.” Link in bio/stories #time
