I’ve never done a dance before but I’ll dance for melanoma awareness. Many of you don’t know that I grew up dancing ballet. In fact, many of my friends became professional dancers! I was never talented enough to go pro but loved dancing so much. To be honest, I haven’t danced in years so please forgive me for my interpretation of @witneycarson #eltamdheadtotoe dance but to be honest, I’ll admit it was so much fun! We are both raising awareness about how skin cancer can happen to all of us - all ages, skin type, skin color, and on areas that may not see the sun as often like the feet. I’m excited to join her with @eltamdskincare tonight for an IG Live (haven’t done one of those in awhile!) as we talk about Witney’s story of her melanoma battle on her foot at the age of 19. As dancers, having your feet affected by surgery or medical conditions can be incredibly difficult and life altering as this is our passion! As a dermatologist, one of the biggest challenges I have with patients is getting them to wear sunscreen daily, let alone other often forgotten areas of the body. Wearing a broad-spectrum sunscreen everyday from head to toe is important! Our world needs a little or lot of bit more fun. Here is my #eltamdheadtotoe dance!
