our koda bear turns 7 today 🥹🤎🧸 my sophomore year of college, i was living alone in a townhouse on the outskirts of UGAs campus and ended up being so lonely and sad i couldnt study or focus on anything. one night while i was trying to study i started crying and thought “i think i need a dog.” i opened craigslist and found a listing for a lab mix puppy for $100. i think i only had $100 to my name but i was working at a coffee shop in athens and knew more money would come. i messaged the seller and three days later brought home koda. i had actually intended on picking up his sister (even though i grew up only having boy dogs) but she was sold to a family the night before I was supposed to come. the seller messaged me saying “i have one puppy left, he’s a fluffy male and we were planning on keeping him but if you want to come meet him you can.” the seller ended up dropping the price to $50 - his name was cookie and i instantly fell in love with him. cookie became koda and koda became my best friend. he’s been with me through college, 7 moves (2 cross country ones), our wedding, and so many amazing things in between. if you’ve been thinking about getting a dog - rescue one and do it. i genuinely cant imagine the past 7 years without him. the best $50 ive ever spent - hes changed my life forever 🥹
