almost one year to the day, deena & aaron snuck off to celebrate their 18 year anniversary in new orleans by secretly eloping in this balmy chapel during a storm. their big wedding wasn’t for another year - you’ve seen it all over my page recently - and i flew straight from new york to new orleans before a double header in palm springs and colorado. basically, i wasn’t missing this for anything. the quick 24 hour trip resulted in the most moving, emotional, exciting and creative wedding day i’ve ever been a part of. honestly, i cry thinking about this day. inside this huge muggy room, sweating with the storm raging outside, my morning jacket playing softly from a speaker in the corner and two people who proved to me that soulmates exist. i can try to explain the overwhelming feeling it gave me and the few others in the room but it was truly indescribable. it’ll just be a moment i’ll have forever etched into my mind with immense gratitude that i was a witness to it. oh, and that i got to take these photos of it. it killed me to keep these private for an entire year but it also made it that much more special - that this day was a fever dream of human connection that was just for them to have.
published on none other than, @_anti_bride last week on their anniversary & a big thank you to my second shooter and bff @kaylalilli - i’m so grateful that we got to do this crazy week together
