My Mom is from the northern region of the Philippines and speaks a language called Ilokano. Since childhood I’ve always been grateful for being so connected to my Filipino roots through her. I’m so blessed to have my Mom in my life and I miss my Dad everyday. Hug your parents more and spend as much time with them as you can while they’re still here with us. This is an old Ilokano folk song that I love so much called O Naraniag A Bulan. -(Oh Bright Moon) Oh bright moon. Hear my requests. Your bright light. Don't hide it from me. Oh bright light. Hear my cries. My dark world. Give it your light so I will not get lost. If you have forgotten your promise to me has ended, I'll take a sweet death. Oh moon, accept it. My love has withered. Please make it come to life. Hear my requests faster.. #ilocana#filipinoamericanhistorymonth#ilocano#ilokano#pinay#folksongs#folkmusic#lullaby#kundiman
