Story time y’all. This is a story of touring, cheese, and triumph. This past weekend I played in Appleton, Wisconsin and then immediately after flew into Sacramento, CA to perform in Petaluma and Mammoth Lakes. It was a beautiful time, and during my time in Wisconsin, my fan and friend John Quirk (as per the tradition started last summer) brought me a freezer bag full of FRESH Wisconsin cheese, packaged that morning! We are talking like 10 lbs of all types of cheese you can imagine y’all. Wisconsin don’t mess around! With some flights ahead of us, we get a trusty HEB recyclable bag, put the freezer bag full of cheese in it, and begin our journey to California and then ultimately back home to Austin. While in Cali we of course had to think of ways to keep the cheese cold, so in the green room at the Petaluma Fest, we put the cheese in the refrigerator. While leaving Petaluma for the 5 hour drive to Mammoth lakes, we realize an hour into the drive that WE LEFT THE CHEESE IN PETALUMA! (sounds like the title to a country song right?) As you can imagine, I’m heartbroken. I felt like I had let down John, and all my family at home whom I was bringing this cheese to share with! Lo and behold my faith in humanity was restored when Adam, an amazing person and volunteer at the Petaluma fest, offered to drive the cheese to Sacramento and hand it off to us as we catch our flight back to ATX. Thank you John, thank you Adam, because of y’all we will be munching on fresh Wisconsin cheese for a while. I love my fans, y’all keep me and this whole operation going ❤️🙏🏽🎶🎸
