Have you guys ever wondered why your agent recommends particular photographers? 📷️⁠ ⁠ I ask this (AGAIN) because like I’ve mentioned before, these things tend to come in waves, & I’ve just had a tsunami of people send me photos from photographers who, aren’t necessarily bad, but don’t know kid’s fashion photography any more than I know how to perform open heart surgery. ⁠ ⁠ No, we’re not getting a kickback at the agency. We recommend who we recommend because an agency market themselves, & their kiddos in a specific way. If your child is signed by an agency, you’d prefer them to be on brand, right? I know you’d rather use a photographer in your small town in WI rather than making the trip to Chicago because it’s easier. Or that guy down the road from you in Jersey because parking in NYC is a bi$ch. But trust who we refer to, we have real, legitimate reasons for doing so! We’re able to weed through, & will know what photographers will shoot the kind of photos that will book your kiddo's work, who won’t take advantage of you by charging too much $$, and who will get you your photos back in a timely manner, etc etc. *Please note: no one needs photos that cost upwards of $1000. NO ONE. ⁠ ⁠ I know your cousin Cindy’s friend Sam has a really great camera and shot weddings on the weekend during college, but trust us- we’re here to help. We promise to steer you in the right direction. Take your agency’s recommendation. It’s our industry’s version of the trust fall!
