A painfully heartbreaking tale of a young woman, Kya Clark, who is abandoned in the North Carolina marshland. I think I went through every emotion imaginable while reading this. It’s extremely gripping. Kya is an incredible character, extremely brave and incredibly tough. It’s essentially a story about survival in a prejudiced world and touches on subjects like racism and sexism and shows us how small acts of kindness can mean the world to someone. This book has been so hyped up over the last two years on #bookstagram but I get what the fuss is about!
