#OKCPSInTheCommunity: This morning, we celebrated a graduation ceremony about 80 years in the making! #OKC resident Ms. Patty Kelly Stevens was a teenager living in Guam with her family when the island was captured by Japanese military forces during World War II. Just a few months shy of graduating from high school, Patty and her family were held for three years and two months in a prison camp. After Liberation Day, Patty grew up, earned her high school diploma, and raised a beautiful family, but she never walked across the graduation stage. Patty's grandson Jason contacted the district to arrange this special ceremony and honorary #OKCPS diploma. Many of Patty's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends joined us today for Patty's honorary graduation ceremony!
